About Sara

Hi, I'm Sara. I've spent nearly two decades helping leaders handle the complicated parts of managing people, and I've come to believe most of what we call "people problems" are actually system problems wearing human costumes.

My career has taken me through global companies and high-growth tech: Target, Cisco, AppDynamics, and DataRobot. I've partnered with executives and managers on performance management, employee relations, leadership development, and organizational change. I've led complex investigations, coached leaders through the kind of conversations they were dreading for months, supported large-scale reorganizations, and built the manager training programs that quietly hold a company together as it scales.

The throughline across all of it: when people problems pile up, it's almost never because the people are bad. It's because the system around them is unclear. Expectations weren't set. Feedback wasn't given. Hard conversations got pushed for so long that they turned into terminations that didn't need to happen. My work is about putting clarity and structure back into those moments, so leaders can make confident decisions, support their teams, and keep the business moving.

I'm also building something a little different. Over the last year I've started developing AI-powered skills that help managers and HR partners do the hardest parts of the work, faster and better. Hard conversation prep. Performance diagnosis. Manager-avoidance check-ins. The tools that experienced HR practitioners have been doing in their heads for years, now available in five minutes. It's a small but growing library, and it's where I think the future of HR consulting is headed.

I live in Overland Park, Kansas. I'm a big believer in directness, warmth, and saying the thing out loud. If you're trying to build a company where people can do their best work, I'd love to talk
